The Blurb:
Candra Ember used to dream of saving the world one person at a time. She never expected to become an angelic weapon and the last hope in the battle against ultimate darkness.Falling for a Nephilim wasn’t part of Sebastian’s plan. Distraction is something he can’t afford when his rival, Draven, wants what Sebastian has.
Lies, manipulation, and corruption are twisting the lives of the citizens in Acheron. The Arch is missing from Heaven, and a demon is intent on claiming the city. At a time they should be growing closer, grief and paranoia is driving Candra and Sebastian apart.
If the price of restoring the Watchers to Heaven is a human soul, who deserves to be saved?
My Review:
Iredescent is the sequel to Ember by Carol Oates. I was undecided after reading Ember, but I can now say that I am officially Team Draven. While this book had some moments that seemed to drag to me, it more than made up for it in other moments. There were so many things that I didn't see coming, I was literally on the edge of my seat while I read. There were also times it brought me to tears. The last quarter of the book? Holy cow!! I can't really say much more without some major spoiler spillage, but it definitely doesn't disappoint. This is a series that I think even men could get into. Sure is has the romance, but it has so much action too. This series is intense and a definite must read! I'm not sure if there's a third book in the works, but Iridescent wraps up the story quite nicely. Of course, I'd love for there to be more! I'm definitely a fan of this author! To learn more about Carol Oates and her books, visit her website. You can also find her on Facebook and Twitter.
I received the ARC of Iredescent by Carol Oates from the publisher for review. The opinions are my own.
