A one-time bad girl comes home to small-town Oregon in the first in a sexy, heartfelt new series from USA TODAY bestselling author Maisey Yates…
Sadie Miller isn't expecting any welcome-home parades on her return to Copper Ridge. Least of all from part-time rancher, full-time lawman Eli Garrett. The straight-laced, impossibly hot deputy sheriff glares at her like she's the same teenage hoodlum who fled town ten years ago. But running from her demons has brought Sadie full circle, ready to make a commitment at last. Not to a man, but to a B and B. On Garrett land. Okay, so her plan has a tiny flaw…
Eli works too hard to let a blonde ball of trouble mess up his town. But keeping an eye on Sadie makes it tough to keep his hands off her. And if she's so wrong for him, why does being with her feel so right?
Part Time Cowboy is the first book in the Copper Rigde series by Maisey Yates. There were so many emotions flying around between Eli and Sadie. Some were good, some were bad, but there was no denying their chemistry. Holy Moly! There was enough tension and anticipation to put a girl in a tizzy. I never thought I'd like to see two people argue so much, but when Sadie and Eli argued, it was so full of build up... you could feel it. You really got to know these characters, their history, and what makes them the way they are. I grew quite attached to them, and I'm looking forward to learning the stories of some of the other characters in upcoming books.
The ARC of Part Time Cowboy by Maisey Yates was kindly provided to me by Xpresso Book Tours & the publisher through NetGalley for review. The opinions are my own.
USA Today Bestselling author Maisey Yates lives in rural Oregon with her three children and her husband, whose chiseled jaw and arresting features continue to make her swoon. She feels the epic trek she takes several times a day from her office to her coffee maker is a true example of her pioneer spirit.
In 2009, at the age of twenty-three Maisey sold her first book. Since then it’s been a whirlwind of sexy alpha males and happily ever afters, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Maisey divides her writing time between dark, passionate category romances set just about everywhere on earth and light sexy contemporary romances set practically in her back yard. She believes that she clearly has the best job in the world.

I’m an Oregon girl, born and raised. I love my home state, and I love writing books set in it.
Why? Well, here are my Top Ten Reasons to Love Oregon.
Top Ten Reasons to Love Oregon —
10. The Coffee — yes, Seattle is famous for its coffee, but Oregon is a BIG coffee place. In fact,
Portland, Oregon ranks ahead of Seattle as the city most obsessed with coffee based on the amount of coffee shops per capita.
9. Wine Country — It’s true, Southern Oregon is giving Napa Valley a run for its money.
8. Oregon is weird — it really is. After all, up in Portland there are bumper stickers that say:
Keep Portland Weird (I think your weirdness is safe, Portland). Just yesterday I saw a headline in the Oregonian that said: Man arrested for stealing two bikes and a goat named Penelope.
Yep. That’s Oregon. But maybe weird isn’t the right word. People here are individuals, and unique, and that’s how we like it.
7. Oregon Trail — there’s a wonderful computer game about people braving Dysentery to get here. You’d ford a river to make it to Oregon, no question. (Oh, there’s a real Oregon Trail too.)
6. Food — if you’re a fan of local, organic food, this is the place to be. Also, if you’re gluten free, vegan or paleo? There’s an item or twelve on the menu for you.
5. No Sales Tax — that’s right. None.
4. We don’t pump our own gas — I know some people have an issue with this. I personally quite enjoy staying in my car in bad weather while someone else does it for me.
3. Art — Oregon is big on the arts, from music to plays (The Ashland Shakespeare festival!) to art walks, there’s a lot of culture, even in the small towns.
2. Location, Location, Location — Do you like the mountains? The ocean? The city? The high desert? Oregon has all of that. The landscape is diverse, and a day trip can get you to a place that looks almost entirely different than the one you just left. And it’s ALL beautiful.
1. The people — Oregon has a happy bunch of people, I mean, sure, not everyone, but most everyone. People wave and smile, and make conversation. They’re individuals (that weirdness I talked about earlier…) with serious pioneer spirit (because Oregon Trail). By and large, the people that live in Oregon, LOVE Oregon and that contributes to the happy, relaxed vibe you find here (at least outside city limits!). Also, we use our turn signals. I’m looking at you, California.
