The Blurb:
Someone to Love is a light, sexy read that is far more naughty than it ever is nice. What happens when two people who don’t believe in love, happen to fall madly into the most beautiful relationship they could ever imagine? A train wreck.
When twenty-year-old Kendall Jordan transfers clear across country to Garrison University, the last thing she’s looking for is a one-night stand. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what, gorgeous, Cruise Elton offers.
Kendall has long since come to realize that love is an illusion that never lasts, and Cruise couldn’t agree more—but something deep inside her wants him all for herself. So, Kendall devises a seat of the pants plan to “play the player” and proposes that Cruise tutor her in becoming a female version of himself, Garrison University’s own playboy.
Real feelings begin to emerge, and neither Kendall nor Cruise know how to classify them. Everything they once thought they knew is redefined as they discover, in one another, Someone to Love.
My Review:
Someone to Love is another one of those stories where I got too hung up in the details. As you probably gathered from the cover, Kendall and Cruise have sex on the brain. When they're not talking about it, they're thinking about it. ALL the time. Once they get around to actually doing the deed, Kendall tells Cruise not to use protection because she's on birth control. She knows that Cruise has been with more girls than there are stars, and the thought of STD's doesn't even cross her mind until they've been together several times?! Also, Cruise just got a position at the university that is supposed to be VERY important to him, yet they waste no time christening his classroom and the roof without regard to the consequences if they're caught. I know there are people out there that are just as careless as these two. Those parts were frustrating to read and made it hard for me to truly care about the characters. On the other hand, it was a quick, care free story that made it easy to pass time. It would be a great book for a plane ride or afternoon at the beach. I love how the author puts a story together. She gives enough detail that you feel like you're really getting to know about the characters and their world. I'm a fan, and really enjoyed her book, Ephemeral.
