Sweet Reckoning (The Sweet Trilogy #3) by Wendy Higgins
Genre: Young Adult (Paranormal Romance)
Date Published: April 29, 2014Publisher: HarperTeen
Evil is running rampant and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.
The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.
In the most sensual and fast-paced installment yet, Sweet Reckoning brings all the beloved Neph together one last time to fight for their freedom.
Sweet Reckoning is the third book in the Sweet Trilogy by Wendy Higgins.
First of all, I'm sad this trilogy is over. Very sad! I've become so hooked on
Kai and Anna's story. I'm even attached to the supporting characters
too. Within this book, everything we've prepared for in the first two
books is finally coming together. We get a bit more steaminess among the
nephs, and I really like how the author pulled that off and still kept
it YA friendly.
There's quite a bit of character growth among all the characters. Kai probably has the most growth. He is almost unrecognizable from book one to book three, yet he keeps the smolder and attitude I love about him.
There were only a few issues I had, and they took place just before the epilogue. First of all, I expected a little more bang. That's all I'm going to say about that, as I don't want to give any spoilers. Also, I felt like a few things contradicted the former messages that were being spread within story. Am I over thinking it? Probably.
Over all, I love this trilogy! Love it!

After earning a Creative Writing degree from George Mason University and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Radford, I taught high school English until becoming a mommy. I've always had a heart for teens, and writing YA stories gives me the opportunity to delve into the ambiguities of those pivotal years before adulthood.
I live in the D.C. area with my husband, daughter, son and puppy Rue.
