After the End is the first book in the After the End series by Amy Plum. I'm already a fan of this author after reading her Revenants series. This book was completely different, but every bit as engaging. Juneau has lived an extremely sheltered life in Alaska. She has no idea there is an outside world, and though she can survive the wilderness, she has no idea how to survive present day civilization. Survive she does though. She is at odds with everything in her life. Everything she believed in is in question. Everyone she knows has lied to her. These are hard pills to swallow, but she's a strong girl, and I have faith she's going to continue to survive. This is a series that could easily hook me in. I've already got the second book just waiting for me to finish this review before I start reading it.

Amy Plum is the author of the International Bestsellers DIE FOR ME (Indie Next List pick, Romance Times top pick, and recipient of a starred review from School Library Journal), UNTIL I DIE, and IF I SHOULD DIE. She is a huge fan of Edward Gorey and Maira Kalman (and collects both of their books/art), as well as David Sedaris, Amadeo Modigliani, and Ira Glass.
