With everything to lose and only one thing to wager…
When May Victoria loses her mother, it's a race to get enough cash together to keep her young siblings out of foster care and in her custody. The odds are stacked against her, but she does hold a high card…
Her virginity.
The Peacock Ranch is a legal brothel on the outskirts of Las Vegas that's skilled in the business of virginity auctions—but whether or not May can survive the week with all but her chastity intact is a gamble she wasn't counting on.
From the author of Market Street Cinema, May at the Peacock Ranch explores the journey and drive of a girl willing to go all-in with a payoff to readers that's tenfold.
May at the Peacock Ranch by Michele Machado was a a quick and entertaining read. May is a brave girl who will do anything for her family. Literally anything. There was a little mystery and suspense thrown in, not to mention some steamy moments as well. The story is short, so everything happens and is wrapped up quickly. It was a little predictable and a bit unrealistic a time or two too, but it was still a fun escape all the same. I love the cover!

What a fabulous cover - though I'm not a huge fan of shorter books...
ReplyDeleteThe cover is what pulled me in too. I'm a sucker for a pretty cover. ;-)
