They said it was an accident…
Sawyer Dodd is a star athlete, a straight-A student, and the envy of every other girl who wants to date Kevin Anderson. When Kevin dies in a tragic car crash, Sawyer is stunned. Then she opens her locker to find a note:
You’re welcome.
Someone saw what he did to her. Someone knows that Sawyer and Kevin weren’t the perfect couple they seemed to be. And that someone—a killer—is now shadowing Sawyer’s every move…
Truly, Madly, Deadly by Hannah Jayne is a quick little thriller that packs a lot of action and suspense in a small package. I was pretty sure who the killer was from pretty early on. I questioned a couple others in my head at one time or another too, but I kept going back to that person time after time. It just didn't make enough sense for it to be anyone else. My biggest issue came from Sawyer's inaction. She should have gone to the police after the first note she received, or if she wasn't comfortable going to the police from the start, at least tell a teacher, her shrink, the principal.. Someone! I have no idea why she didn't. Her reason wasn't at all logical. This is a good traveling book, perfect for reading in the car or on a plane or train because there was a lot going on, so that kept my attention and made the time fly.
Hannah is the author of the UNDERWORLD DETECTION AGENCY CHRONICLES from Kensington books and the upcoming young adult thrillers TRULY, MADLY, DEADLY and SEE JANE RUN available from Sourcebooks, Inc. When she's not battling the demons of the Underworld or tackling a murderer at Hawthorne High, Jayne kicks her feet up in her San Francisco bay area home and attempts to share couch space with two enormous cats.
